2026-27 Coaching Programme

Coaching Opportunities for Hull & East Riding Artists

Join the We Are Creative (WAC) Hull & East Riding Coaching Programme

Are you an artist based in Hull or the East Riding of Yorkshire? Would you value dedicated time to reflect on your practice, set meaningful goals, and explore challenges with the support of a professional coach?

WAC is launching a new Coaching Programme to help local artists grow, build confidence and move their creative practice forward. The programme is funded by Hull City Council’s Growth Programme and East Riding of Yorkshire Council.

What’s on offer

Eight artists will be selected to take part.

Each participant will receive a series of one‑to‑one coaching sessions.

Sessions will take place online or by phone, arranged directly between you and your coach.

You’ll be matched with a coach based on your needs and the type of support you’re looking for—whether that’s challenge, encouragement, listening, or championing.

The programme includes an online opening session and an online closing session; attendance at both is required.

How to apply

Send either:

A written statement (max. 500 words), OR

A video (max. 10 minutes)

to wearecreativehey@gmail.com by 5pm on Monday 26 October 2026.

Your application should cover:

What you hope to gain from the coaching sessions.

Any specific issue, challenge or goal you’d like to work on.

Any previous experience with coaching (if applicable).

You must be available for all sessions.

Commitment to attending all coaching sessions, plus the opening and closing group sessions, is essential.

Why take part?

This is a rare opportunity to join a new coaching programme delivered across both Hull and the East Riding. Your participation and feedback will help shape future funding bids, with the aim of expanding the programme to support even more artists.

The Fight For Our Creative Futures programme has been operating in Hull schools over the past year and Gen Hull are now asking local creatives to help shape how it could develop in the future.

What vision do you have for the role of arts in the lives of the young people of our city?

How could your creative practice play a role in the city’s Local Cultural Educational Partnership (LCEP)?

How can we offer wider engagement across schools, trusts, creative organisations and freelance artists?
